about bettine

Once upon a farm...

In 1982 farmer and cheese maker Johan began using the milk from his two goats to make goat's cheese. Using traditional methods and the freshest goat's milk, the goat's cheese he produced was so mild and creamy, it was soon a best seller at the local markets and food fairs.

From that moment, the Bettinehoeve business was formed on an old Dutch farm which is still used as the factory today.

He named the brand ‘Bettine', which means female goat in old Dutch. Now more than 35 years later it is the best-selling brand in Holland and everyone can enjoy our fresh and soft ripened goat’s cheeses with the mildest taste. To be honest we are quite proud of that!
